Windows 10 can be upgraded to Windows 11 in a supported or unsupported fashion. Rufus is not needed. A bootable flash drive is not needed to upgrade but is needed for a clean install. And a bootable flash drive can be made with and without Rufus. Please indicate what problems your having or what you want to accomplish.
Unable to use Rufus with Windows 11 GPT/UEFI. With Windows 11, we were instructed to use GPT/UEFI when using Rufus to create a Windows 11 Insider ISO. Is there a way i can create a windows 8.1 installation disc using the microsoft media creation tool, and then using rufus to mount the ISO to a flash drive in GPT for BIOS mode and install windows 8.1
The Rufus tool has multiple options - the default one states it'll work for both BIOS/legacy/UEFI but it isn't recognized if the motherboard's setting is to use UEFI as primary boot option. There are 2 other options however, if you pick UEFI only install to MBR it will do just that, or the third option is UEFI only and install to GPT.
So I pressed the 'OK' button and then, another window popped up saying 'No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, then click OK.', I pressed 'OK' again, and I can't install Windows 11. I also tried changing my USB ports, still didn't work.
